About Me
I'm a financial journalist and former Wall Street strategist currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Journalism with a specialization in Business and Economic Reporting from NYU.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in American Studies from Stanford University and an Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Harvard University.
While working on Wall Street, I earned four FINRA securities licenses: Series 7, 52, 63, and 79. I’m also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 2 candidate.
A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.
After graduating from college, I began my career in higher education administration. I worked at schools such as Duke University, the University of Chicago Law School, and Northwestern University. My time in higher education administration honed my organizational and leadership skills, providing a solid foundation for my subsequent career change to finance.
I started my finance career at Morningstar, where I contributed to projects that aimed to improve the company’s services and maintain client relationships.
Later, I took my talents to Wall Street — most notably to Morgan Stanley, where I was part of a team that dealt with bonds issued by cities and states. My job involved planning strategies to attract investors and analyzing how large institutions invested in these bonds.
My experiences on Wall Street ignited an interest within me to make complex financial information both more accessible and more engaging, steering me towards a career in financial journalism.
Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.
Now focused on financial journalism, I'm driven by a desire to clarify the intricacies of the business world. My aim is to unravel the complexities of finance, business, and the economy, making these fields understandable and accessible to a broader audience and empowering individuals with the knowledge necessary to make informed financial decisions.
As many of you know, I'm also a retired comedian. With nearly a decade of experience in improv, sketch comedy, and stand-up, I once graced stages at acclaimed venues such as The Second City, the People’s Improv Theater (PIT), and Upright Citizens Brigade. My ability to blend humor with insightful commentary honed my skills in engaging and educating diverse audiences.
I live in New York City.
